As we creep towards the end of the year (only 24 more sleeps till Christmas as I write this!), it feels like a good moment to stop, breathe, and look back at everything 2025 threw our way. It’s been an exciting and productive year, full of the kind of projects that remind us why we turned this little hobby into our full-time life ten years ago.
Here’s a look at what shaped 2025 for us.
A year of projects with personality.
If there was a theme this year, it was variety, and we loved it. We launched websites for start-ups taking their first proper steps, long-standing businesses in need of a fresh coat of digital paint, and organisations with complex, behind-the-scenes functionality that needed to work like magic.
We bounced between brands, local trades, community organisations, creative ventures, you name it. It kept us sharp, and as always, it was fun.
Our clean, flexible design and build process did its thing, and clients kept saying the words we love hearing such as “absolute pleasure” and “friendly, responsive, and incredibly knowledgeable”.
Content, SEO, and good old clarity.
A big shift this year was the number of clients wanting proper help with their content. Not just a bit of copy, full structure, messaging, SEO foundations, and clarity about what their website should actually do.
We also spent more time than ever helping clients shape their content. Not just tidying copy, but guiding structure, clarifying messages, and making sure each page had a clear purpose. For clients who were short on time or unsure where to begin, that extra support made a huge difference. The result? Smoother launches and stronger websites from day one. Exactly what everyone wants.
Hosting and support kept growing.
Our hosting continued its steady climb, with more and more clients wanting that one-roof, one-team simplicity. Faster servers, rolled-back backups, security that doesn’t sleep, and a support inbox where an actual human replies… it makes a difference, and clients noticed.
Quite a few also moved across after hosting headaches elsewhere. Getting them safe, stable, and supported felt good.
We also spent far too many hours rewriting documentation, contracts, and processes to make everything clearer. Not glamorous, but very Eldo.
Behind the scenes improvements.
We quietly tightened things up this year (like most years). New contract wording, smoother workflows, cleaner QA checks, and a more structured approach to client content. We’ve been doing this for a long time, but client needs, the digital landscape, and even our own needs evolve constantly, so we have to adapt.
All very sensible. All making 2026 look brighter.
The realities of running a small business.
We’re not going to pretend every month was smooth. A few very late invoices kept things interesting, and it’s been a tough year across the board, with some peers closing up shop and clients facing their own challenges. We also saw more delays than usual getting content and feedback, which definitely slowed a few projects down.
But rather than letting it knock us off balance, we used it as a chance to tighten things up, improving how we onboard, price, schedule, and set expectations from day one. And it’s paid off. We’re heading into 2026 with a clearer, healthier workflow that protects our time, supports our clients better, and keeps projects moving in the right direction.
Being small means we feel the bumps, but it also means we adapt quickly. And we did.
Looking ahead to 2026
If 2025 taught us anything, it’s that staying small and personal is our superpower. We respond fast. We care deeply. We stay close to the work and even closer to our clients. Bigger agencies simply can’t do that.
So thank you to everyone who worked with us this year, whether we built your site, hosted it, supported it, or all of the above.
Here’s to 2026. Let’s see what we can create together.
