One of the first things people ask us (usually before we’ve even finished saying hello) is “So… how much is a website going to cost?” A fair question. And also one of the most confusing, because the internet still throws around everything from £300 to £15,000+ like those numbers belong in the same universe!

The problem with website pricing…

A “website” can mean so many things. A DIY template, a mass-produced agency build, or a fully bespoke site crafted around your brand. That’s why prices vary so much. And it’s why comparing quotes can feel like comparing a microwave meal with a three-course dinner.

What you’re really paying for (not just a website)

  • Design thinking.
  • Time, expertise, and actual craftsmanship.
  • Flexibility and future-proofing.
  • How easily you can edit things later.
  • SEO foundations that work from day one.
  • The people building it (yes, that matters).
  • The experience of the whole process.
  • Whether the site will perform,or just sit there.

At Eldo, everything we build is bespoke and easy for you to edit. No templates. No nasty page builders. No shortcuts. We design and build directly in the browser so your site grows naturally around your content, your goals, and your audience.

So… what do you actually get at different budgets?

£500 (elsewhere)
Usually a template with limited customisation, minimal revisions, and little-to-no support after launch. It will look like a website… and that’s about it.

£1,000+ (with Eldo)
A fully bespoke site designed and built from scratch. Same level of care, same attention to detail, same support, just usually a smaller or simpler site.

£2,500+ (with Eldo)
A more complete business website. Service-led navigation, stronger UX, more tailored layouts, and deeper SEO structure. Ideal for a growing business.

£5,000+ (with Eldo)
Larger, more complex builds with integrations, member areas, multilingual setups, booking systems, advanced functionality, the works. Still fully bespoke. Still human. Still Eldo.

Remember: A cheap website isn’t cheaper if it loses enquiries, frustrates users, or needs rebuilding in two years!

Is it a one-off cost?

At Eldo, yes. Our projects are fixed-price, and you own your site outright. No retainers. No “mystery extra fees”. No renting your own website from us. Just hosting (optional with us, but required somewhere) and your domain.

Some agencies offer monthly “website-as-a-service” deals. They look cheap upfront, but read the fine print, you may never own the site, and moving provider can be… fun. In the non-fun bad way.

How to get the best value (Regardless of your budget)

  • Be clear about what the site needs to do, having a decent brief is the best way to get an accurate quote.
  • Make sure it can grow with your business.
  • Choose people who will support you long after launch.
  • Don’t judge by price alone. Judge by process and results. Check out the agencies’ testimonials for example.

At Eldo, we guide you through everything. Planning, structure, content help, design, build, launch, support. Your site becomes a tool you understand and can update easily, not a fancy box you’re scared to touch.

So… how much should a website cost in 2026?

Enough to get it done properly. Enough to make it an investment, not an expense. Enough to work for your business instead of holding it back.

If you’d like a tailored quote, or just a friendly chat about what’s possible, drop us a message. No pressure. No jargon. Just honest advice and a clear idea of what your budget can achieve.
